12 Mar Taipei Bike Show from Fairdale

I arrived in Taiwan after what had to have been a 47 hour flight. I simply do not fit in airplane seats and it made the flight seem longer then ever. Hurry up and buy a bunch of Fairdales so I can buy a sailboat for next time I travel. Once I finally hit the hotel I rewarded myself with a Taiwan Beer.

People wonder what it’s like in Taiwan and all I can say is that it’s pretty much like here except that 7-11′s don’t have Slurpee machines but do have boiling cauldrons of eggs in them…

… and some random street art that might not fly here in the states.

At the bike show I saw the new Fit bike model. It’s a pretty big departure from what we’re used to seeing from fit but I guess change is cool.

I picked up about 100 catalogs. I was especially on the hunt for tires for a new Fairdale model I’m working on. Oddly enough the Innova (IRC) catalog had me in it!

This isn’t the exact photo obviously but more or less the same thing… I think the one they used in the catalog was from the Worlds in 2000. If they have a tire I want to use I’ll expect a discount., ha ha!

This is an interesting item I found at the show. A magazine holder so you can read while riding.

Here’s some tires I turned down for Fairdales, but they might be on Darryl Nau’s bike soon!

I’m not one of those retro BMX guys but these throwback Kuwaharas were pretty sweet!

Linsanity is so huge in Taiwan. Someone even managed to make Linsanity grips in time for the show.

Choking the chicken?! Lunch at the show was questionable.

You wouldn’t expect to find a lot of Man Gel at a bike show, but here it is.

And why not a little something for the ladies.

Hell, while were at it why not get yourself some dragon and zoo animal gel too!

Zeronine has changed directions a bit since making BMX racing leathers in the 80′s.

I thought the wooden pedals were pretty classy. The weird metal one looked like it might be made from that little box from the Hellraiser movies.

Eye of the tiger!! I would be so fast with these bars staring back at me.

One of my favorite things in Taiwan are all the awesome scooter slogans. I added this one to my collection. Here’s a bunch more from last year.

I am forever entertained by misspelled T-shirts like this one…

This is a warning to keep children’s hands out  of subway doors with Mr Pringle.

9 Mar Every pedal moves you closer. by bobbyp

If you frequent the Fairdale website then you will have no doubt heard by now that there will be new bikes added to the Fairdale line in the very near future.  The Weekender has been getting a lot of coverage as of late.  Logan took The Weekender out for a solo century ride, Taj cruised through the rainy Austin streets testing out the mechanical disc brakes and ESPN even did a write up about the bike.  There are a lot more bikes Fairdale has up its sleeve.  Give us a call and get a sneak peak on all of the new model bikes Fairdale has set to release.

29 Feb FAIRDALE TAKES ON THE PLANET from Fairdale

This year, Fairdale’s product line will grow immensely. We are bringing in enough new models to satisfy almost every cyclists needs, which in turn will help us spread some of the magic around. We are looking for International Bicycle Distributors (we’re looking at you Europe) to help us with the launch of our new products. We would like to work with some cool companies to help spread some Fairdales around the world.

Please contact info@fairdalebikes.com if you are interested in working with Fairdale, or have suggestions about who we should work with in different countries around the world.

Thanks!

Remember… Every Pedal Moves You Closer.

24 Feb Custom Fairdales from Fairdale

Today I did an image search for Fairdale and found these…

Yup, that’s the Fairdale x Riot bike.

Here’s a Fairdale just waiting for an earthquake so it can fall of its bike rack and destroy 5 lesser road bikes in one motion.

This Fairdale wheel is used to cage this murderous hell hound.

This Fairdale got dipped in copper because gold was a bit too show-off-ey.

This Fairdale belongs to a properly decent gentleman.

New bike smile!

Bad Boy Club pose with center pull brakes.

This bike made an awful pogo stick.

This one decided to sit back and relax,

and this one got fast,

and this one got dirty.

A skateboard on board,

and a pizza delivered.

A pro bmxer’s seat angle,

and a pro BMXer’s cranks.

A decked out build with more of those center pull brakes.

A comfy BMX bar build with 4 fingered levers.

15 Feb Cat 1 Cyclist from Fairdale

Volunteer Human Society Cat Trapper/ Fairdale Team rider Sandy Carson spotted this amazing Cat 1 rider yesterday cruising the streets of Austin.

Follow the man himself on Instagram at Sandy_Carson or follow this link.

14 Feb Empire mural Day finished! from Fairdale

Yeah, I’m done! It’s obviously nothing too deep here but it gave me a good laugh painting it.

…and it was very boring for Monty.

So the idea is that each rabbit is one of the Empire team riders.

Here’s Tina, Tom and Owen; the Empire family.

Joel Moody is look suave.

Chris Doyle stands with his arm around Joe Rich and Aaron Ross has got his phone out.

George Boyd has his Mutiny bike up in the air and Kevin Porter is holding a coffee cup full of Integencia or whatever it is he likes so much.

Chase Hawk has his white Cult bike with Blue Odyssey parts, and Tommy Dugan is hanging loose lounging out at the bottom.

Morgan Wade is doing a bar ride on a red bike which doesn’t really make any sense because his bike is apparently army green. Tom Smith is standing next to him with arms wide open.

I decided Tony Cardona should be jumping around so he’s the guy on the left side there over Sergio Layos shoulder.

Dylan Smith has his arm around Sergio and Danny Hickerson towers above both of them.

So there’s Dylan and Danny again on the left side, Hanson Little’s rabbit sort of has a beard and then Sean Sexton is chilling out at the bottom in the curve of the ramp.

And then holding up the banner up top our are lost buds Empire’s Bonnie and my old pup Roscoe. I’m pretty sure they are both happy to be looking over everyone.

I’m pretty stoked to have taken this little project from this ratty rained on sketch and blank wall to….

This ratty sketch and base paint on the wall to…

this final (?) Empire team wall.

11 Feb Empire Mural Day 6 from Fairdale

Things are starting to come into focus over at Empire. Got a good solid day of detail work at least, but making headway….
